NOW THE DRAMA BEGINS

It is hard to spend a year away from friends and family, but you get used to it and you learn to rely on one another. Adam and I actually became much closer in our year away. I kid that I have turned into a female version of Adam. We led pretty exclusive lives and enjoyed time together. Now I am back and believe me..it has been a bit of culture shock. I love my friends but I have not had to compete to speak in a year so if I am a bit secluded for awhile..I apologize. It takes a bit of time to get used to.
To all our loved ones: we are happy to be back, but we are not used to the attention (me at least).
Keep bringing the love...it is always nice

WE HAVE ARRIVED

So the trip has ended, but now the BS begins. Our truck is scheduled to be here tomorrow so we will be unloading AGAIN. A little info about the trip:
We left NV fairly late on the 31st (shocking). Adam had to pick up his last paycheck and I had to clean the apt and do the walkthru. The last week that we were in NV it was pretty cold so I packed like I was going to the tundra. So, we pull into Grand Canyon, AZ and there is ice everywhere and about 13 inches of snow. See, I am prepared. We stayed at a cozy little hotel and decided to go downstairs for a late dinner (9ish). So we walk up to the host and he says, "Only buffet..25.00 a piece." Now imagine this in a garbled spanish/mexican ghetto accent. So Adam says, "25.00 each?" Response, "head shake and a yes/si." I told Adam I am not that hungry so I am not going to eat 25.00 in food. He explains that we don't have any choices so we just decide to go for it. We sit down and a waitress comes over and places a glass of sangria in front of each of us (this should have been a clue who just gives you a glass of sangria) Then on to the buffet that I can only explain as food that appears to have been sitting out for hours and limited choices. Plus it closes at 10:00pm and we started at 9:30pm so it is not being replenished. So we eat very little and ask for the check. Our check is 99.00. We both gasp and talk to the manager who in broken spanish keeps saying, "45.00 a piece, 45 a peeece." Adam explains that the guy (points to him) said 25 well all of a sudden my garbler is speaking a lot better and has no idea what we are talking about. We realize we have to pay so in true Jodi fashion I say as we are leaving rather loudly." I had no idea that in AZ Spanish is the first language." So much for a great new years dinner. We were both in bed by 10:30pm so if we missed calls..sorry.
Not sure if you all read our post about going to NV but we carried a TV into every hotel and our plants ended up dying due to such extreme cold. Well, this trip..we took the plants in every night.
January 1st: We get up and I realize that it is super cold out and we will be hiking the grand Canyon. So, me being prepared put on jeans layered up on top and I put on my hiking shoes. Adam puts on jeans, boots with wooden soles, layered top. So we start loading the car and Adam slips a few times. Then he grabs the plant and flat out eats it on the ice with dirt flying everywhere. Needless to say, his footwear needed to be changed. So we tour the Grand Canyon all day and it was really beautiful with all the snow. So we leave the GC and head onward. We did not get far on the 1st. We stopped in Albuquerque, NM.
January 2nd:
NM was a bit chilly but not bad..less layers and we headed out. We stayed in Oklahoma City.
January 3rd: Where the hell am I and why is it like 60 outside? So less clothes for the drive. We stayed in Mississippi and when I got out of the car I thought I was in the swamp in early May. It was pretty much disgusting. If you know me, you know that the humidity kills me and I sweat a lot. The plants stayed in the car that night.
January 4th: OMG! I am not prepared! My flip flops are packed, I have no shorts! It was swampy and rainy and about 66 and I was miserable. BUT we were going to Graceland. HELLO ELVIS..here I come. I had a mad crush on Elvis in 2nd grade. I had his gold record and I just loved him. I seem to like dead guys..I also adore James Dean. So we head to Memphis and check out Elvis and then head to SC to visit with Eric, Holly and Riley.
January 5th-7th we spent in SC with the family and had a great visit and then headed to the BURG on the 7th.
Adam and I stayed with my parents last night and now we are waiting to unload the trailer tomorrow and then jobs, and life in general.
I will not lie to any of you...I am happy to see everyone but I did not want to move back so this is bittersweet. ...I do however get to spend my birthday with my ladies and that is always a great thing.

Pictures from the trip will be coming, I am waiting on my new baby (AKA lil MAC)
